Porchlight is a dating app for people in different places and different time zones. Nobody has to be online at the same moment. You write when you have something to say, and it’s waiting when they wake up.
What it will be
Most dating apps are built for the person across town. Real-time chat, swipe when you’re bored, meet up Thursday. Long distance breaks all of that, and the apps treat you as an edge case.
Porchlight starts from the other end. Conversations are letters, not chat. You get time to think and to say it well. Slow replies are the point, not a signal that someone has lost interest.
